Why I'm Participating

I am walking for my Mum, who after suffering multiple complications of kidney disease and years of dialysis, died at 68.
I am walking for my husband's brother who died waiting for a kidney transplant at 58.
I am walking for individuals, families and communities. Kidney disease is a stone tossed into the water - the ripples spread far and affects many.
I am walking for awareness - even if it is one person at a time.
And I am walking because I am lucky enough to have 2 healthy kidneys, the ability, the determination and the support to complete the Kidney March. I am especially lucky to have my bestest run buddy coming along. Even if I signed her and gave 100 km for her BD as a suprise!! And of course for Dinushini (my niece) who told us about this cool event and got us all into this! UR IN WAAAAAYYY OVER YOUR HEADS :)
